Honoring Eden

The Birth of Eden's Gift

In 2022, Brianna and Edwin Luckhoff eagerly anticipated the arrival of their much-awaited baby. Their excitement was palpable as they prepared to welcome their little one into the world. Guided by an experienced midwife known for her successful deliveries of hundreds of healthy babies, they felt assured of a safe and joyous birth. Throughout the pregnancy, their family and close-knit community enveloped them with love and support, adding to the anticipation of the beautiful journey ahead.

The birth of Eden brought immense joy to the family. However, shortly after delivery, the baby faced breathing difficulties caused by fluid, and unfortunately, the bulb syringe they had at hand was not sufficient to address the situation. Despite the midwife's dedicated efforts, the situation took an unexpected turn, leaving the family devastated.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the challenges midwives often face due to limited resources. Better tools could have made a significant difference and prevented such tragic outcomes.

We must acknowledge the crucial role of midwives and ensure they have access to sufficient resources for better care of mothers and newborns.

Investing in midwives' training and resources will greatly improve maternal and infant health outcomes. Little Eden's story emphasizes the importance of this effort.

Let's create a compassionate healthcare system with skilled midwives and well-equipped facilities, ensuring safer and healthier beginnings for all families, celebrating each new life with hope and optimism.

TURNING Sorrow INto Strength

Brianna's parents, Tom and Danette Sefcak, were there at their daughter's side during the birth and loss of their grandchild. They vowed to transform their grief into purpose, creating an organization that would help prevent others from similar heartaches.

In a poignant tribute to their late child, Brianna, and her husband Edwin planted a cassia fistula tree atop baby Eden's resting place.

Today, this vibrant yellow-flowering tree also adorns our logo, symbolizing hope and renewal, as its graceful branches shower over the legacy of little Eden.
